Impacting our World . . . One Life at a Time

The primary purpose of Follow Up Ministries Inc. (FUMI) is to work with local churches and Christian ministries in jail, juvenile detention, and prison settings. We seek to "complement, not compete" with existing ministries:

Reaching behind the walls of isolation and depression in the prisons and juvenile halls with the life transforming message of Jesus Christ.
Working in partnership with like-minded churches and organizations bringing spiritual healing to hurting souls, somebody's sons and daughters, mommas and daddies.
Discipling, showing prisoners "how" to follow Christ in undistracted discipleship.
Equipping them for aggressive spiritual warfare in an increasingly morally corrupt world, using time-proven discipleship methods and materials.
Sending released inmates back to their living units, their families and friends as ambassadors of the Kingdom of God —to impact their world of influence for Christ.

Ordinary people, "folks" helping other folks!

Follow Up Ministries, Inc. is a California non-profit corporation, governed by a Board of Directors drawn from the Christian community, and administered by a small professional staff. Much of it's mission work is accomplished by volunteers, called the God Squad. It's President and Founder is Rev. Glenn L. Morrison, a veteran of many years of service in prison chaplaincy. Follow Up is a home mission — "trans-denominational" in focus — supported by tax-deductible gifts from private individuals and a handful of churches. It receives no denominational or governmental support.

What We Do

We are a specialized arm of the Church, supporting and complementing local churches as they carry out the Great Commission to prisoners.

History

The ministry was formed in 1956. An early milestone was creation of the 28-lesson Scripture Investigation Course of Bible study. Later an advanced study program, "Verse Analysis" was started. In 1970, Morrison developed the Prison Discipleship Seminar program and the "God Squad" volunteer ministry. Some 1500 church members have attended the God Squad Orientation training.

Leadership

President and Founder Rev. Glenn L. Morrison continues to provide key leadership and direction for the ministry and its various programs. He leads volunteers in California, Arizona, Texas and Arkansas. He was ordained by the Evangelical Church Alliance, and has served in various service organizations including Navigators and Youth for Christ.

Board of Directors

A nine-member Board of Directors meets quarterly in Castro Valley, California. Members are made up of Christian men and women from the community. An Annual Meeting is held each December.

Board of Reference and Advice

Members of this special panel have agreed to serve as distinguished advisors to Follow Up Ministries. The list reads like a "who's who" of American leaders in religion and criminal justice.

Statement of Faith

Our volunteers come from diverse church backgrounds. We are trans-denominational in the sense that we adhere to "basic Christian truths" and avoid the teaching of sectarian doctrines. Our common goal is to proclaim the Lordship of Jesus Christ, introducing others to Him, and teaching them to follow Him.
